MOUAU Admission Eligibility

Anyone who got 140 or higher on the 2024/2025 UTME exams and listed the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) as their first choice school can apply. People who applied to other universities can change their first choice to MOUAU on the JAMB website. Then they can apply to MOUAU

What are the Requirements for MOUAU Admission?

  • You must be at least 16 years old by the time of admission.
  • You must have a minimum of five credit passes in your O’level results (SSCE, NECO, GCE, or equivalent). The subject combination must include English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects for your chosen course of study.
  • You must have a valid UTME score of at least 140 and choose MOUAU as your first choice of institution. You must also participate in the post-UTME screening exercise conducted by the university.

Admission Requirements for the College of Education at MOUAU

UTME Requirements:

  • 5 credit passes in SSCE/WASC/GCE O’Levels including:
    • English Language
    • Agriculture Science/Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
  • For Library Science: 1 credit in science, social science, agriculture or biology

Direct Entry Requirements:

  • OND/HND Distinction/Credit – eligible for 200 level
  • OND/HND Lower Credit, NCE Double Major Credit/Merit – 100 level

Additional for Industrial Technology Education:

  • ND in Engineering – Civil, Mechanical/Production, Electrical/Electronics
  • NCE Technical Education
  • Full Technological Certificate

MOUAU Postgraduate Admission Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with less than 3.00 CGPA (5-point scale) or 2.50 CGPA (4-point scale)
  • HND with a minimum of Upper Credit

Masters (M.Sc) Requirements:

  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00 (5-point scale) or 2.50 (4-point scale)
  • Credit in English and Maths
  • PGD holders with a 3.50 CGPA can apply

PhD Requirements:

  • Minimum CGPA of 4.00 (5-point scale) or 3.00 (4-point scale)
  • 60% minimum if by percentage
  • Credit in English and Maths
  • M.Sc holders with less than 4.00 CGPA can apply for different specialization

Admission Requirements for 2024/2025 B.Sc. Part-Time Programmes

Agricultural Economics, Rural Sociology and Extension, Agronomy, Soil Science and Meteorology,

  • Candidates must have Five O’ level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Science and any other Science subject in no more than two sittings Candidates with a credit in Agric. Science needs at least a pass in Biology

Agribusiness and Management

  • Candidates must have Five O’ level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Econs, and any two of Biology or Agric Science, Agronomy, govt, Science, Govt, C.R.K, Geography in no more than two sittings

Biology Education

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics in no more than two sittings

Integrated Science Education

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics in no more than two sittings

Agricultural Science Education

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any relevant Science subject in no more than two sittings

Computer Science Education

  • Candidates must have Five O’ level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other relevant subject in no more than two sittings

Home Economics Education

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any of Physics, Clothing & Textile, Food and Nutrition, and Home Management in no more than two sittings Candidates with a credit in Agric. Science needs at least a pass in Biology

Entrepreneurial Studies

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two Subjects in no more than two sittings

Industrial Relations and Personnel Management

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two Subjects from Government/History, Commerce, Principles of Accounting, Geography, C.R.K., A gric. Science, Biology, Literature English, Igbo, Housa, Yoruba in no more than two sittings

Library and Information Science

  • Candidates must have Five O’level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two Subjects in no more than two sittings

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Candidates who wish to apply for direct entry admission into the above programmes must have relevant O’Level results and at least two A-Level passes, or NCE, OND OR HND in the following areas of study: Agricultural Science, Science Education, Geography, Forestry, Fisheries, Building Technology, Environmental Health, Surveying, Architecture, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning, etc.

Duration of MOUAU Programmes

  • Candidates with Ordinary Level Certificate, OND/ND at Lower Credit level, NCE at Merit/Credit levels need a minimum of six (6) years to complete the programme
  • Candidates with OND/ND at the Upper Credit level, NCE at the Distinction level, and HND at Lower Credit Level need a minimum of five (5) years to complete the programme
  • Candidates with HND at Upper Credit level need a minimum of four (4) years to complete the programme
  • Candidates with O’Level qualifications need a minimum of five (5) years to complete the programme
  • Candidates with OND at Upper Credit Level and HND, at Lower Credit in relevant areas, obtained from recognized institutions. At least three (3) years for candidates with HND at Upper Credit Level, and B.Sc. in related areas.

MOUAU Admission Requirements for Agribusiness Management

Post-UTME

To apply for this program, you need to have five O/level Credit passes in GCE ordinary level, SSCE, or NECO. You can take these exams in up to two sittings. The required subjects are: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Biology (or Agriculture) and one more subject from the following list:

  • Government/History
  • Principles of Account
  • Christian Religious Knowledge
  • Geography

You can also combine two results from GCE O’level, SSCE, and NECO as long as you have at least five subjects.

Direct Entry

If you have GCE A/L passes or equivalent in Economics and one of these subjects, you can apply for direct entry:

  • Business Management
  • Accounting
  • Mathematics
  • Government
  • Geography

You can also apply for direct entry if you have an OND with minimum of Upper Credit in Business Administration, Marketing, Agribusiness & Mgt., Accounting or a related field.

UTME Subjects

The subjects you need to take for the UTME are: English, Mathematics, Economics and one of these subjects:

  • Government
  • Principles of Account
  • Christian Religious Knowledge
  • Geography

Other  Requirements:

As a student of Agribusiness and Management, you must follow all the rules and guidelines of the university as stated in the student information book. This includes the policies on exams, course registration, grading, graduation and student conduct. The Department has a strong partnership with Galilee International Management Institute Iseal, Southern Connecticut State University USA, ACU-AAS Circle Programme and others.

MOUAU Admission Portal and Admission Process

Starting July 19, 2024, follow these steps to register for the admission screening:

  • Go to www.mouau.edu.ng
  • Click the 2024/2025 Admission Screening banner.
  • Click the “Register” button.
  • Enter your JAMB registration number.
  • Enter your valid email and phone number.
  • You will get an RRR number to make a 2000 Naira payment. Pay online or at a bank.
  • If payment issues, email portal@mouau.edu.ng
  • Validate payment at https://portal.mouau.edu.ng/remita/query-remita/.
  • Register by filling out the online form. Pick your department.
  • Enter your WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results for 2 sittings.
  • Fetch results from WAEC/NECO/NABTEB.
  • O’Level results and sittings affect admission.
  • Confirm fetched results are correct before submitting.
  • Wait for 2024 results before registering.
  • Some fields are prefilled.
  • Submit the form and print a copy. Email copy sent.
  • The university was not responsible for the wrong info entered.
  • Check the portal in 14 days for screening results.

MOUAU Admission Deadline
