UNIBEN UTME Entry Requirements

If you are applying for UNIBEN admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must have reached the age of 16 by the time of admission.
  • You must have at least 6 (six) Credits grades in your O’level result (s). This must include English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects related to your course of study. For instance, a candidate who wants to study law must have at least a Credit in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.
  • You must score at least 200 in the JAMB UTME examination. However, some courses may require higher scores. You can check the cut-off marks for different courses.
  • You must take the UNIBEN post-UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination. The post-UTME screening is usually conducted in August or September every year. You can check the details and dates of the screening.
  • You must choose the correct subject combination for your courses. You can check the JAMB brochure for the subject requirements for different courses.
  • You must not have more than one sitting result for your O’level examination. UNIBEN does not accept two sitting results for admission.

UNIBEN Direct Entry Requirement

If you are applying for UNIBEN admission through direct entry, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must have at least five (5) Credits grades in your O’level result. This must include English Language and Mathematics. However, the two-sitting result is not allowed.
  • You must have reached the age of 16 by the time of admission.
  • You must have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN, or any other equivalent qualification. The certificate must be relevant to your course of study and must have a minimum of upper credit or second class lower division.
  • You must register for JAMB direct entry and choose UNIBEN as your first choice of institution. You can register for JAMB direct entry.

UNIBEN Postgraduate Entry Requirements

If you are applying for UNIBEN admission for postgraduate studies, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university. The degree must be relevant to your course of study and must have a minimum of second-class lower division or a CGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale.
  • You must have a master’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university if you are applying for a doctoral program. The degree must be relevant to your course of study and must have a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 4.0 on a 5-point scale.
  • You must have a minimum of five (5)  Credits grades in your O’level result. This must include English Language and Mathematics. However, the two-sitting result is not allowed.
  • You must have a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate if you are a Nigerian citizen.
  • You must pass the UNIBEN postgraduate entrance examination and oral interview. The entrance examination is usually conducted in June or July every year.

How to Apply for UNIBEN Admission

After you have confirmed that you meet the admission requirements for your chosen course of study, you can proceed to apply for UNIBEN admission. The application process is done online through the UNIBEN portal. The steps are as follows:

  • Visit the UNIBEN portal.
  • Click on the appropriate link for your mode of entry: UTME, Direct Entry, or Postgraduate.
  • Create an account by providing your details and a valid email address. A verification code will be sent to your email. Use the code to verify your account and log in to the portal.
  • Fill out the online application form with your correct and accurate information. Upload your passport photograph, O’level result, certificate, or transcript as applicable. Ensure that you review your application before submitting it.
  • Pay the application fee using any of the available payment options. The application fee is N2,000 for UTME and direct entry, and N12,500 for postgraduate. You will need to print out the payment slip for reference purposes.
  • Print out the acknowledgment slip and keep it safely. The acknowledgment slip contains your application number, which you will need to check your admission status and print your admission letter.

Tips and Advice for UNIBEN Admission

To increase your chances of getting admitted into UNIBEN, you need to follow some tips and advice. Here are some of them:

  • Choose a course that matches your passion, interest, and ability. Do not choose a course because of peer pressure, parental influence, or popularity. Choose a course that you will enjoy studying and excel in.
  • Prepare well for the JAMB UTME, post UTME, and direct entry examinations. Study hard and smart. Use past questions and textbooks to revise. Attend tutorials and coaching classes if possible. Practice with online mock tests and quizzes. Be confident and calm during the examinations.
  • Apply early and follow the instructions carefully. Do not wait until the deadline to apply for UNIBEN admission. Apply as soon as the portal is open and follow the instructions given. Do not make any mistake or omission in your application. Do not submit false or incomplete information. Do not use another person’s credentials or documents.
  • Check your admission status regularly and accept your admission offer. After you have applied for UNIBEN admission, you need to check your admission status from time to time. You can check your admission status on the JAMB portal, the UNIBEN portal, or the UNIBEN Kofa page. If you are offered admission, you need to accept it on the JAMB portal and print out your admission letter. You also need to pay the acceptance fee and complete the clearance process on the UNIBEN portal.
