UNILORIN Admission Requirements

UNILORIN Post UTME/Direct Entry Screening

After meeting the admission requirements, you need to participate in the post-UTME/Direct Entry screening exercise conducted by the university. The screening is a computer-based test that assesses your aptitude and knowledge in your chosen course of study.

The screening date, time, and venue will be communicated to you via email or SMS after you have registered online. You will need to print out your screening slip and bring it along with your original and photocopies of your credentials to the screening venue.

The screening fee is N2,000 and it is non-refundable. You will need to pay the fee online using your ATM card or bank deposit. You will also need to upload your O’level results on the JAMB portal and the UNILORIN portal before the screening.

The screening score is calculated as follows:

  • 50% of your UTME score
  • 20% of your O’level score
  • 30% of your post-UTME score

UNILORIN Catchment Area and Admission Quota

UNILORIN considers candidates from its catchment area as a way of promoting educational development in its host state and region. The catchment area comprises the following states:

  • Kwara
  • Kogi
  • Benue
  • Nasarawa
  • Plateau
  • Sokoto
  • Kebbi
  • Zamfara

Candidates from these states are given preference in admission over candidates from other states, provided they meet the minimum requirements. However, this does not mean that candidates from other states cannot gain admission into UNILORIN. It only means that they have to score higher than candidates from the catchment area.

UNILORIN also has an admission quota for each course, which is determined by the National Universities Commission (NUC) based on the available facilities and staff. The admission quota is the maximum number of candidates that can be admitted into a particular course in a given year.

UNILORIN Direct Entry Admission Requirements

If you are a direct entry candidate, you can also apply for admission into UNILORIN for the 2023/2024 academic session. Direct entry candidates are those who have obtained one of the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma (ND)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • National Certificate in Education (NCE)
  • Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB)
  • Cambridge A’Level
  • B.Sc/B.A

To be eligible for direct entry admission into UNILORIN, you must have:

  • At least two A’Level passes in relevant subjects related to your chosen course of study
  • Five O’level credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics
